First of all, you will need to install a program called Windowblinds. You can download a "free" version of it from Stardock http://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/
After you´ve installed Windowblinds and started the program, I think you will understand the rest of the process. If the file you downloaded of the 3FX skin by danilloOc has the extension of a zip-file, change it to 3FX.wba and click on it after you have installed Windowblinds.

Good luck, and enjoy your new desktop! :-)

Do yourself a favour. Forget the resource guzzling windowblinds and opt for something like Aston, which is lite. (o)

Why cant people get it into their heads that WindowBlinds

DOESNT USE ALOT OF MEM

SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESH......

Unless off course you´re using some piece of crap machine with only 8 megs of mem.....

Yes, in that case 1.940k of mem is alot.....

Get your facts straight buddy!

snowman: get your facts straight buddy! WindowBlinds can use a lot of mem,.. it just depends on the skin ;-)

I never tried the app. btw, but I have been reading so much of these "yes / no / but" posts that I consider myself an advanced WindowBlinds user.. :-D
PK: thats one big load of BS!
But just for testing I played around with it, loading a few skins from my lill collection and no matter which skin I loaded (with or without animations, huge big ass graphics etc etc), WB never went above 3K of mem.

Now tell me again that WB uses alot of mem!

Well..... I don´t have one of those (crap) machines.... and through MASSIVE experience.... WB does bog down your computer.... The basic program + THE SKIN you have on will dictate the speed you experience.... Sorry.... But that is fact.... Don´t believe it.... Delete WB Completely..... then experience your speed.... and judge for yourself. :)

I´ve just picked up on this one again.

I don´t have a crap machine either but I wouldn´t give WB space on this one. Aston uses less than 2 Mb of hard disk for the basic installation ~ I can´t remember what WB was, but it was bloody huge!
I pootle about on this machine using about 1.45megs of SDRAM, and that´s using a theme and eight plugins on my desktop.

Just had a look at the posting and it looks like a store front:-)

Mickeblue, 1st of all you need to learn the difference between ´storage´ and ´performance´
The amount of space usen in a hard drive to store information is not the same as the memory used by the running application.
After all WindowBlind files are stored in the HD the ram memory usage of the program is virtually none. At this precise moment I´m running WB with an animated skin and the memory reading is dead steady at 1,588k. Mean while my IE is clocking memory usage at 25,652k and my SysMetrix is clocking an even 9,000k.
Also keep in mind that WB replaces the shell images of the original XP and most skins are way smaller in size than the standard Luna skin that comes with WindowsXP.
So please tell us again how does WindowBlinds hogs memory usage that leads to slow performance of your system?

many moons ago running wb would wreak havoc on your machine (I would only test skins and play around for a while but always have to turn wb off before I would begin work) but these days w/ the latest builds I don´t seem to have any probs and can always keep it running...

mind you I don´t use speedometers like you guys do so who knows what the resources/mem number really is but it "feels" as if it runs pretty flawless now days...
