Even with the banners, skinBase has never brocken even or made a substantial profit. That means, there is a big gap between how much this all costs and how much the site actualy makes in revenue. <br /> <br />Over the past few months, things have gotten even worse, our monthly visits have been steadily declining, down from 850.000 to just over 600.000 visitors now. So in reality, not only are we not making enough money from advertising, our &acute;user base&acute; is shrinking, placing in question the network&acute;s further persistence with skinBase. <br /> <br />I guess that&acute;s why they&acute;ve put me in charge, because they knew I would never see skinBase go. So, we needed to find a solution as to how we can not only keep skinBase online, but return it to it&acute;s former glory and even beyond. Meanwhile was invited to some other sites where I am still busy setting up cross references here, only as an explan. why I cant just upload + be quiet as much as wanted. Think it is very good grim + staff, with graves ok n support are adding new approaches. My contributions will never get 200,000 visitors over tomorrow, and btw. I am NOT trying to pretend I belonged to the staff, no matter whos ID might have meant that the other day. <br /> <br />I felt whoever even thought about mentioning 1 word about COSTS leave alone MONEY to get some of that back was a minority making things worse because of killing great free and skinning artist attitude. Many of us incl. me can only afford our skin or pc related hobby only because we have another job, family, source of income. This might not always work even if we want it to. What we are doing here is not negative. So getting a BIT of reward not just by trophies + fictitious recommendations on whatever with whatever friends or foes, existing or not, no, maybe even PART of the REAL costs back is not negative either, as long as you still cosupport those with less knowledge or financial means as best you can without reducing too many crucial parts of your own good returns. <br /> <br />Now I know maybe I am not a minority with this thinking on that topic. Timeout for that on all sides will help the skinning projects + sites in the long run. Came here on purpose because I had info this was worth boosting and the right time in opposite to some other sites either finnicky, commercial, or crooked and messed up with internal fighting at the moment. My new approach is back to basics, pretend trolling, site monitoring, fictitious ids + ratings just dont exist. Make my stuff work technically, build up more, legally + the way I can endorse it, set up more traffic the way I want, not the way it looks good or uncommercial. A bit of quality does no harm to get better recom.s + better traffic. <br /> <br />When I was new (unregistered anon. downl. only, longer ago), my impression: add - ridden, slow loading site the beatniks + cursorxps of which mostly were available on wc anyway which had much more of em. Did not come here much. As an insider or beginning artist, got diff. impression, otherwise would not be back + that active. <br /> <br />Hope the other new sites + this one will allow faster work for which I will be glad to pay a bit. Normal downloaders, this does not mean YOU should have to pay, or not much. But dont you admit you want artists be able to contribute better and faster and more to you?
