Artur something you said really strikes me. I think one of the best things about Skinbase is that people are comfortable here. I think that says a lot for any site that people feel that way.

Isn´t that great? :congrats Yes, the world is a competitive one, and it´s hard to find people you can sit with, change views with, share work with, get honest feedback and generally have a great time! Skinbase is one of the few where everybody is equal, where there is no popularity contest, where no moderators only accept works made with a "certain" graphics program, where no moderators only accept a certain "style" of work, or where there´s fierce advertising for a "certain" skinning program. This is the strength of Skinbase. There is a huge collection of categories and applications that are skinnable. <br />And by far the friendliest site on the web. :o Yes, indeed it is a pleasure to be around on Skinbase. :aw

Back when I started in 97or later I would upload to 3 sites every skin I made... You find your friends really fast and say BRUTAL... I have looked back to my other works (same as here in SB up until 2003) I see heavier concentrations of downloads and very bad e-mails from admins. What was that all about? Back in 2001 Bear, Adni,Boxxi and a couple others said a few things in comments that changed the way I made some of my works. Right after that I got my first award.... not on $%&^* but here on SB.... That was one Adni liked alot. <br />(no titles) Over on %*_))&^ it was downloaded to this date over 1000 X..But that doesnt matter the admins were obnoxious, the skiners coldly kind, the uploads kinda go unoticed and there isnt a family feeling... The "Big Daddy" is where the admins are off their rockers. WE HAVE A FRIEND HERE AT BASE THAT TOOK DOWN HIS WHOLE GALLERY ! I JUST GO TO THE OTHER TWO ONCE IN A WHILE TO LOOK AROUND 😮 I love my friends here as SB Just know that. 😎 I HAVE NO OTHER TIME FOR THE UNFRIENDLY 🌙

I agree SkinBase is the Best and I mean the BEST site there is on the web.The people here are friendly and honest and the caliber of artiest and art at the Base is some of the Best there is on the web :aw I hope it stays the way it is and has been for year to come :Happy

I can´t remeber exactly when I came here now but it was when I first stated playing with computers. I am a qualified signwriter and screenprinter by trade but because I mainly got interested in shopfloor production I never really looked at computers until I got really sick in 97. Not long after that...around 2000-20001 I came here and uploaded my first images which, incidently, are still in my gallery and the only originals of my first works left on the internet. Like GT I had some bad experiences too. I mainly frequented another site and really poured my heart and soul into that site and supported it until their was a mutiny of sorts....more an act of piracy. The same day the owner was ousted I lost my seniorship in a manner that clearly violated site policy. It was a personality thing and four members of the administration decided to win the argument by stripping me of my status. When the dust settled and I looked at what was left of a one great site I thought I´m out of here. So I toddled back here. Sed was one of the first people I met in the community and we have always maintained contact. Sed is the opitamy of what is good about this site. He encouraged me in the early days and others have since such as adni and Boxxi. I have never seen any large scale crap go down here and it is because of that that it works here. As GT said everyone is really friendly here and it is a pleasure and an honour to post here and be amongst so many nice people. This is the most human site I know. I love the place and love the interactions I have with everyone. Everyone instinctively knows how to behave and that is a rarity. More power to SkinBase :congrats :aw ☕ :Smile

Well, I won´t write a too long comment, don´t want to tired you with my very ... personal english :) <br />Compared to all of you, I feel like a newbie and I´m realy happy to see the "ancients" coming back at SB. Your experience, good or bad (or both), of the community is precious for the new comers, we need your memories to not reproduce events you had known and which disapointed you. <br />I remember a very long thread here with a member who don´t agree the usual rules about copyrights, the guy was never censored (thinking to myself : "I couldn´t be a moderator here" LOL ) Snowman let him expose his arguments and opposite his own with patience. The thread has been close after a while because it could exist for few months but the member has not been exiled or anything like that. Where can you see that ? <br />Last thing, I would like to thank all of you for the friendly spirit you breathe here. <br />How I feel here ? Fine thanks :congrats <br />Kind regards ;)

Now I got to say something here I came to Skin Base Last month and I have stayed I was using three other sites but had bad experience with all So I found this site by Accident and have been here ever since I do get e mail from others at other sites but I tell them about this one and I wont upload my work on their anymore. It is a shame that people are so competitive that they have to be mean I could never understand that since you are doing it for entertainment and not money but I guess it is the world we live in and I am proud to say I don’t fit in that kind of world I like my old time morals and beliefs. And if I can share my knowledge and better yet learn something new the better it is So Thank all of you for accepting me and my friends :Happy

Hey gang, I´m a friend of Jamunzie´s. I used to upload on another site until the moderator (actually two of them) chipped away my spirits until I didn´t enjoy visiting the site. (Letting others use ripped images and not me, insisting I put image source links in my uploads) How could I win? Then to top it off, I kept being put down by other members in my comments page. So one day I opened both barrels on this guy who left negative comments on my page. His comments get erased from my page, mine left on with a note telling me my access level is lowered. Now I can´t even delete my skins! <br />This site has been a welcomed change for me and I´m actually inspired again! The peeps here have taken me in and showed me compassion unlike other sites, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I hope I haven´t offended anyone with my remarks left here. We are all here to share and to have a good time. I cannot remember anyother site, where 3 members started singing Sweet Home Alabama on the chat window. One from the US - Sally - one from Greece - Nikos - ( although Nikos was more on a jazzy mood ) and myself from Portugal. Besides artistry and all the work we share, we all have for sure the sense of happiness moments and a terrific good mood. That´s what Skinbase it´s all about: to share and to have a good time. :Happy :Happy :Happy

I am amazed in the most positive sense to feel beginners and advanced members, staff or not, uploading or not, commenting more or less are still united here on one of the few free sites that are not just friendly because they are in bad need of traffic and bored - no! Its really still the true spirit like Indians in the west or skinning pioneers had in the early days, on a site with an ESTABLISHED community and QUITE some traffic. Many possibilities for almost EVERYONE who let´s it happen. I treasure these days and check in to see the opposite any future or present trends would make you expect in general proved to exist up to this very day. <br /> <br />And its a dynamic MEETING POINT even if my pc and appartment fall apart the very next day. I would still feel there is someone to visit or think of making it worth it. <br /> <br />In an era like we got now, with many solutions and trends, there can be many a question. These arising things get more challenging when you have the scope range to go back to where it all COMES from. And around here, you can still get a lead back to the roots and thus some understanding. Each of us might draw individual conclusions from that. But its a platform that welds true wanderers for a good cause together, the basic platform, history, things that happened and still are happening. A crazy world, a big one, but if you look around a bit, and get this spirit or understanding or sharing, as you said, attitude - it does not seem endless or hopeless. <br /> <br />The rest is just things like - how much time, and means do I have at which point of life? Patience and open minded thinking, giving and taking, no matter what can do a LOT more for you in such a short time. Time for ☕ <br />
