OP
The new version of Opera (9.0) has a security failure 24 hours after releasing http://www.critical.lt/?vuln/349 If you go to this page, the browser crash http://www.critical.lt/research/opera_die_happy.html so don´t use this link with Opera 9.0. And this Friday was discovered a serious failure affecting versions 8.54 and before http://www.vigilantminds.com/advi_detail.php?id=45 So Opera is not for me. I started using Firefox because I was a happy Netscape user in the past, many years ago, and Firefox was the best alternative to Internet Explorer. Now, Firefox gives to me all I need, but I´m sure Netscape will be a good choice for all of you IE users. :Happy :Happy

Yes Aaron, but Netscape is not based on the IE engine, is based on the Gegko engine(Firefox). It gives however the possibility to change engines, as per user request and in terms of security I i think it is a great browser. And yes, I am unnistalling Opera 9.0 from my system. And no, I do not like Firefox...ehehhe :Happy |O|

These things keep changing - so lets keep up the info :congrats Firefox will be less interesting plugin - wise when they go commercial soon. Plus their 2.0 does not have some crucial things yet that were planned for that version. Meanwhile IE is taking its time. <br /> <br />Read about Netscape and Opera the other day - so currently Netscape s new build is more agreeable, look at that. Some people are still content enough with older builds of each of those. Currently I am rather content with firefox inspite of the open source disadvantages because of the skins and plugins. Like translating whole pages from and 2 40 languages on 1 click etc. But I am aware it wont always be as good leave alone most popular.

Interesting reading the different responses you folks have to various browsers. <br /> <br />I tried opera when I was a BTYahoo subscriber, but as the ISP linked most of it&acute;s good stuff to their version of IE6 I didn&acute;t use Opera very often, although at the time I liked it. <br />When I changed ISP to madasafish.com Opera caused a serious problem with my new connection and I had to uninstall it and revert to an earlier back up to get my connection working again. <br /> <br />With this connection Firefox works a treat, and it renders pages as they should be ( try looking at SkinYourScreen using IE and you will wonder what the hell is going on! ), so I&acute;m happy with it ~ but I didn&acute;t know they were going commercial (???) I just thought they were inadvertantly making money through search engine usage Toby. <br /> <br />I gave up on Netscape back in the days when I was learnig CSS, because the browser adamantly refused to render the code properly, and its appearance was amateurish compared to the alternatives.

Humpty meanwhile dumped me into my WC skin browser tray for other purposes - to distract me from SD central - and skin browser tray - and component tray. But its only a cover cause for safe browsing I use XPClean Gold by a kraut which is for cleanups and anti Microsofting certain things. Yeah, maybe Ill go back to bed and my avant dx browser 😂 to find ants dream of setting the rss sharp readers browser a bit better :zzz

For all of you IE users, this could be interesting. <br /> <br />Yesteday (27/06/2006) were discovered two new vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose potentially sensitive information and potentially compromise a user&acute;s system. http://secunia.com/advisories/20825/ <br /> <br />Secunia has constructed a test, which is available at http://secunia.com/internet_explorer_information_disclosure_vulnerability_test/ <br /> <br />A new reason to migrate to Netscape or Firefox? :Happy :Happy
