I agree with you chickGirl, if someone drops something better than what 1 hungry individual submitted, than what´s stopping that person from ripping the ideas of everyone else and adding them to their own blindz? <BR> <BR>That just means that someones gonna develop a super skin at the last minute and it will be a combination of all the plugins and gadgets created by all skinners/programmers in the olympics...lol...what how unOriginal the skins start to look by judging time....
hmmmmmmm frankly I have never heard of a contest that the skins can be updated and changed as many times as one wants too...... Once a skin has been submitted should be final, not changed and updated 10x over....... it´s suppose to be a contest? I think me has walked away, I´m sorry :-(

Chicky - yes you can use them after they have been sent to the GUIOlympics site. They should be available to view and download (by anybody) from February 1. <BR> <BR>Last I saw LOS had 2 skins. Leading the way! <BR> <BR>Thanks to Koasati and Sylva too. Great to see that sort of spirit from people active on other skin sites. <BR> <BR>/me goes to see if I am allowed to make a skin for LOS ;)
Yea, that is cool. We didn´t expect any submission this soon because of the time involved. I think all of the sites will do terrific.

Looks like quite a bit has changed since last time I looked at WB, but I´m checking it out and will definately give it a bash.
No time... besides, I can´t stand losing, so I´d have to crank out a perfect skin.

Ok, thats all fine and dandy.. but do we have a skinbase suite in the works yet? <BR> <BR>If not... I will have some free time in couple of weeks, but.. I will ´only´ work on a complete suite for skinbase. Anyone interested? <BR> <BR>My idea for the skinbase Suite: <BR> <BR>The suite graphics will symbolise the place of learning that skinbase is. The suite has to be ´educational and easy to customize for the newbies. The skins would have to be stylish and uncluttered for the ease of use with large ´easy to hit´ buttons. The colors would have to be ´cheerful´ cause we all have so much fun here.. right? <BR> <BR>But.. there is no skinbase logo.. damn. <BR> <BR>Anyhow, I have been away for a bit.. so whats news and is anyone interested in this idea? <BR>

sovy.... <BR>Suite of skins simply means a collection of skins using the same GFX, usually including a shell App and a few other application accompanied skins. This way, you get a lot of people to collaborate on the project and learn ...and the quality of work is usually high. <BR> <BR>I think BruB has already mentioned that he is interested in coordinating such effort if we would participate.
The way it works is: <BR> <BR>Some of us submit a bunch of graphics we consider to be featured as a theme for ´skinbase skin suite´ . After we agree on which we should work on.. we can choose our applications of choice and get to skinning untill we have one great collection of ´skinbase´ skins to submit to the Olympiad... But above all.. it´s a lot of fun and you feel like you are doing something good for the promotion of the site.
I think it´s a great idea, Jerry. <BR>But I think we need a bonafide Skinbase.org Logo. <BR>Maybe a contest for it? <BR>Of course, it being gRAVE´s site he´d have the last word. <BR>But one definite "Logo" would sure be nice.

When you submit a skin it´s eligible for all categories. You don´t have to upload for specific categories. In theory, one skin could win all 15 events.
To make it more clear, <BR> <BR>a skin can be "cheerful","fast", with "Best use of colors", "OS-like", "useable" and "original"...... <BR>so in which category this skin must be uploaded??? <BR> <BR>Do you have any idea? <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>The categories are: <BR> <BR>Most cheerful skin <BR>Most depressing skin <BR>Fastest Skin <BR>Strangest Skin <BR>Best use of sound effects <BR>Best use of colors <BR>Best Power User skin (what this means?) <BR>Best OS-like skin <BR>Most useable skin <BR>Best use of plugins <BR>Best animated skin <BR>Best Colorable skin <BR>Most website skin <BR>Most original skin <BR>Best overall skin (Is this a category?) <BR> <BR> <BR>
I´m not sure about that either. Hopefully you can just submit the skin and it´s automatically in each category? I have read that theoretically you can win more than once with the same skin. So you must be able to be in more than one section obviously. <BR> <BR>But now Frogboy has an icon here his true identity is revealed ;) He´s Luke´s father!!!! :D
