hehe...... you´re a pistol SIS LOL
/me can´t speak, dirt in mouth
dang............ what the heck smells so bad in here LOL /me gets shovel, heave ho, heave ho, stomps on-top of dirt, shut up down there :-)
/me jumps in freshly dug grave

Yeah yeah yeah, someone fill this hole up a bit before I start to smell.
Well, if that happens, send a note to everyone who said they liked it. Then we can all get together and flame thee SS bandit! >:} hehehe
/me makes note, craeonics says it´s ok to make a cool screen shot and have lot´s of great comments, even though if one downloads it and apply the skin, and it looks like and works like skit, shut-up and keep your opinion to yourself cause the screen shot looks sweet...... :-)
Well, I do a lot of commenting on work. I can viw things quickl, but can´t try them out. Not allowed to, and that takes away from commenting time. I also may not like a skin for myself. I really only like black, but a great skin doesn´t have to be one that fits my astetic tastes. (I think there is too much "If I don´t like it personally, it sucks" attitude, but that´s another rant :P). So I admit, unless it´s for a contest or a feature, I usually don´t try it out first.

Crae has a point too. ^.~
Skinning is not rocket science. If I see a screenshot that looks good, there is no need for me to check whether or not it functions alright.

Okay, /me is digging my own grave here
hmmmm interesting thread /Koasati: and IMO you have a point, I feel that happens a lot around the skinning community, even with the king and queen of the community .... I have read thirty some comments on how fabulous the skin is, I have done loaded it and it had transparent problems among other problems and no one said anything out of all those comments and the skin had been updated a couple weeks later ........ but on the other hand, I feel even if one does not have the application, but it´s screen shot makes you stop in your tracks because it´s eye catching, and you look the screen shot over and like what you see, then I see no harm in commenting on how coool or sweet the skin looks, as long as they are not making comments on how smoooooth the skin runs or specific comments on how great the buttons are work etc............ A sharp looking skin or a skin that shows a lot of detail work deserves comments, or even newbies for encouragement........ but again sometimes comments I have read around the community have been on the lame side :-)
Makes sense to me, K-man.
The only exception I´d make to that is people commenting on the look of the skin but not using the app itself. I do this all the time, but as you say, not based on the use of the skin itself, but simply the beauty of the screenshot itself.
For example, I don´t use Windowblinds, but I can admire the SS. I leave it up to someone like you to let me know if it actually works...
{:p
Bro I can´t get off the fence cuz I´m guilty as charged! hehe

And I see your point and Brub´s too, I comment on stuff I don´t actually use or used at one time but currently not using, cuz I get too busy & cannot d/l everything my eyes are set upon but I want to leave a comment for the Author that it did catch my eye for reason "this & that" kinda stuff...

I think most want to know that their work is actually being noticed and want to know why etc.

though for you bro, I could also leave in the comments, a disclaimer of some sorts?

All comments are left but do not apply if this freakin skin don´t work when I´m not busy and come back to d/l and put it on! hehe
/me now goes to check the recent uploads :D
I´ll comment on the look of a skin if I don´t use that application. "This looks cool!" type of comment. Especially if a Skinbase member has in their description "please comment!". I mainly do this though as I feel everyone deserves a comment most of the time :) I work here remember ;)

I´ll comment further if I like the skin and use the application. In that case, I will test it first.

And I´m with moshi on the demanding comments. If I wanted to skin a certain application, I would have. If you want a skin made for a different application, do it yourself for personal use or request permission if you´d then like to upload it around the traps.
Ok, so I´m in a minority on this...........situation normal. ;)
but.......BruB, your comparision of Porches and skin is weak. IMHO........
I know you´ll never try one, you´re too damn cheap! LOL

Doreen, my dear SIS..........get off the fence! ;)
my opinion?

Good point Koasati!

and

Good point BruB!
hehe =)
Koa, I have to agree with Moshi and Elwin. Alot of software I don´t use but I can appreciate the talent. Hell I love Porshes and I comment when I see one. But i´ve never tried one :)
yes, you´re right, but Elwin has a good point too. i don´t use WindowBlinds or let´s say Trillian either, but seeing how a skin is done often makes me leaving a comment. what really can get annoying is when somebody leaves a demanding comment like "i love this, but i don´t use this appliction, so do it for this ..."
