to me it seems everybody uploads just for the sake of uploading. have not seen much interesting in the last months (with the exception of some excellent Winamp skins and one for BSPlayer). <br /> <br />oh, and please remove "Art" and "Photography" from the "Latest Skins" list. they aren´t skins and deserve their own list. <br /> <br />i shut up now, before things get worse and i speak my mind more honestly on the "state of skinning" (would be more general anyways and not only Skinbase related).

Ummm..... <br /> <br />1) The colors still need to be fixed for mozilla/k-meleon users. <br />2) Stuff that other say should be off or gone should be an option in the configs to turn off and on (that makes everyone happy usually) <br />3) I think there should be an icon like =^.^= for me and Chickie to use. ^.~ <br /> <br />...and that should do it for the moment. 8) There are some things for all sites that I would like to see too.

it´s not that i want sections to be removed. but the first thing i do when i visit Skinbase is clicking "Latest Skins". then i would really like to see skins and not photos or digital art. if i like to see photos i read the National Geographic Magazine and if i want to see digital art i go here: http://www.gfxartist.com/ <br /> <br />so something like: <br /> <br />Latest Skins <br />Latest Wallpapers <br />Latest Photos <br />Latest Art <br /> <br />would be much appreciated in the future :)

Since we are suggesting new features now: <br /> <br />Some more options for the "recent skins/walls etc" list. One could be "recent icons" considering the great amount of icons submitted to skinbase in the last couple of months :-) <br /> <br />The design <b> could</b> be nicer (more blocky & faster loading or so, a style without using any graphics except the logo would be cool :-)) Following a non-GFX line it would be extremely easy for users (and easy for gRAVE to implement) to define there own colours all over the site (kind of like win98 theming..) <br /> <br />It would also be nice to be able to turn of any block in the sidetables that you want (except the advertising or so,..) <br /> <br />/PK:

I´ve seen Skinbase when it was almost new, with just a bunch of wp´s and I came back some two months ago and found it way better. This has always been like home to me, people here are warm and friendly, and that´s something very hard to find in many other sites. WinAmp.com turned into a complete disaster when they let the mob utter their opinions about the skins, a jungle, full of idiots, as most of the net is, a copy of the real world, only much more savage! DeviantArt has always suffered of trends, pretentious pseudo artists, cult to famous or popular members, etc. Skinbase on the other hand is like a big family, everyone seems to love or at least to respect each other, and that´s one of the most valuable and hard things to find, not only in the net, but in the real world. As for admins, they are real people and behave like real people, they don´t behave as unreachable superstars as in the other sites, and that´s something I really appreciate! What can I say, there are many opportunities to improve and make this site better, more functional, but that´s technology, don´t lose what is more important, humanity, soul, heart!

I have not got much to add that is constructive-but I do agree with batoruco, skinbase has got a different feel to most sites it is a friendly place to be and thats why I come back. As with imprvements to the site I can not think of anything intelligent to add, although I would like to see the latest uploads section with the thumbnials of the uploads as it was in the past. Maybe this has somthing to do with my settings. :-)

I´ve always liked skinbase but I guess the reason i don´t frequent here as much as I used to is the content isn´t always on par with other places and I think the site needs a newer/cooler look to it.

To be honest I always thought deskmod overall was the best. Awsome layout and categorizing. Seperate lists on the front page to make content that you´re interested in more accessable, user and staff reviews, and a simple/fast layout. Plus the large user base and advertisment free site there always kept things quick and interesting.

Mind you, I only visit the boards on sites. <br /> <br />If you want your site to be a community, it will only work when people interact with each other. In that sense and in the sense that this site is about skinning, people who comment on pieces are to be valued above submitters, while people who only download are to be taken into a dark, misty ally and being forced to watch Oprah 24/7. <br /> <br />As for my English... too much tv. <br /> <br />Snow, stop staring at my behind. I must agree with Moshi. I like the atmosphere of Skinbase but I would be wary of trying to be an art site. Photography and other strictly art categories shouldn´t really be on here. They crowd out legitimate skinning. <br /> <br />Suggestions: <br /> <br />1) Get rid of the "We have X skins and wallappers" online from the top categories list. It´s not relevant. Quality over quantity is what makes Skinbase special and it just clutters the display. <br /> <br />2) Add on the left: Top 10 skins (in downloads) from the previous day. Then we can at least see what´s hot on the site. <br /> <br />3) Get rid of the category bar at the very top or from the side. it´s on the page twice which is confusing and clutters the page. <br /> <br />4) Comments is spelled "coments" on the bottom right. <br /> <br />5) Something I´ve wanted on WinCustomize but lack the resources presently is a point system for users. When I post a skin, I like to see comments to it. I would suggest a point system where users earn points by making comments. Sure, you´ll get some people making inane comments (and if it became a problem you could institute a way for peple to rate commetns with a thumbs up and thumbs down to take away points from bad comments). But I´d rather have a "Nice skin" comment than no comment at all. It´s also a visible way for users to participate in the site without feeling like they have to craete skins. <br /> <br />6) Move the skin categories to the top of the left side and move things like site statistics down lower. People come for the skins mainly, not "activity ratings". <br /> <br />Hope you find this helpful. ;)

Too many questions about Skintechs script in the Message boards. <br />3. Too many hidden function that only old members knows about (the personnal emoticons, the point system) <br />4. A clean up of the admins, too many have been gone for too long. <br />5. A better way to separate Skins - Walls - Photography. So what you want is there. <br />6. I apologize to everyone.. that was a lousy thing for me to say. <br />I don´t intend to leave, I know I got in an altercation with a so-called friend that night who stole from me and then punched me in the face when I accused him. I got very drunk after that and I should have stayed off of this site instead of making comments like that... to tell you the truth, I don´t remember doing it... but that is no excuse. <br />Again, I apologize to everyone who was upset by my inconsiderate remarks..
