BMP or PNG?

No need for Poll macndabox :) bmp has the best quallity, but big size. jpg has small size and good quallity for a desktop wallpaper. Never save your works as png if they are wallpapers. The majority of authors are saving their wallpapers as jpg files.

I tend to use png as often as I can and I wish more applications would use png for skinning! I only use jpg if I´m making some kind a preview, otherwise I stay far away from it. The jpg compression/quality is a thing Satan created and didnt want to keep. png may produce a slightly larger filesize than jpg but at least it keeps the quality.

He is talking about wallpapers dear Snow ;) He asked: What do you save your wallpaper as BMP or PNG? Png for wallpaper? no...only in skinning where transparency is needed :)

and as I said, I use png as often as i can and yes, i use png for wallpapers too. (I only stated that I´d like more applications to use png because it fit in the context) jpg sucks monkey-balls with its distorting when using any form of compression. jpg artifacts my..... foot - nah, use png or bmp.
