OP
You need a zip management application like Winzip or Winrar. Then best thing to do is create a new folder in My Docs and use the app. to UNzip the file into that folder from where you can do what you have to do with the contents of the folder.
If you haven´t got a zip handling application you are SERIOUSLY missing out on something... suggest you get one asap.
Google winzip... and read the site info. :-)

I´ve already got winzip, but I don´t know what to do with the files once i´ve opened them with it.

In your ´ObjectDock´ folder you will find a ´Background´ folder - unzip contents of the downloaded files in this folder.
Open ObjectDock, rightclick it, select dock/tab settings and pick the theme you´ve downlaoded.

I found what you were talking about. I didn´t know you meant one or the other. When I click "load theme" it still doesn´t show anything except default.
With the desktop x thing, it´s the same problem as the objectdock. I don´t know what to do with it to make it work on my computer.

well, i dont have desktop x or object dock, but if ur trying to load a theme or objects, i believe by default these programs can load .zip files. If they dont, guess u need to extract the files to a folder using winzip, then load the file u want, using the program - desktop x or object dock. I already downloaded some themes for windowblinds that didnt work, maybe the problem is the zip file itself...try to dl other, just to be sure.

I already have winzip. Almost all of the files are set up like that, and my problem is that I can´t figure out HOW to load them. There is no one file I can click on to load it.

Have you tried to contact Stardock, after all, they should know the problem if there is one. Here is the link to WInCusto, try their forums and good luck.

http://www.wincustomize.com/

For zipped skins and things like you can find in our sections for mentioned things, try this url:

http://www.wincustomize.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=187&AID=66020&u=0

(the first comments explain things there, too). Most times you have to rename things. For object dock you want to put things like png s in the zip under the IMAGES folder of object dock plus. If its a theme or background, then put it in the folder for backgrounds, then call up the program and right click over one of the docks displayed. Hit menu item dock settings, then look around for the positions like tab settings, appearance etc.

Under tab settings, for example you can then apply the background you put in the folder for backgrounds. But often it has a different name than you would expect. Lets say the background skin was named classy5 on the Skinbase download page. But in your background selection window it suddenly appears as WEIRD3. You just compare which background is new because it was not there yet before, then you know its real name.

Stardock has its own unzipping tool object zip, btw. downloadable through Stardocks own downloader SD central. This you normally use if you are a registered Object Desktop customer. Click the Object Desktop section at http://www.stardock.com or http://www.wincustomize.com

Another powerful tool not just for this purpose, but also capable of unzipping normal winrars, is SPEED COMMANDER 10.0

Sometimes the zips are special stardock formats, which is why normally the first link up above is helpful, you rename instead and often can install from inside the program, in fact often without renaming.
