Wish that would be changed too. After loggin in I sometimes deactivate macromedia flash, then have panda at least disinfect the cookies, and things work faster and cleaner. When I log in and out seems to be the crucial part

Yea.. this is ´shocking´ and you don´t even have to click on the damn things anymore. I now have to spend an hour a day just getting rid of spyware, spam and trojans.

But the best one is:
Spayware removal tool called Spy Sheriff. This thing is much, much worse then any spyware I ever had. When it highjacks your desktop you need 3 other tools to remove a ´spayware removal tool´.. FRIGGAN BIZZARE!!!

Please somebody, change the Net laws before I start killing those bastards!
==~

Well I think you are being a bit unfair... the Base only shows you where the options are, you are the one who must make the choice whether or not to download and install.

Get yourself a copy of Adaware ~ www.lavasoft.com ~ it´s free for personal use and should blitz your machine of cr@p on the first run... be warned though it can interpret some shell exe´s as a threat, so check your FAQ´s if you are running something like Aston or whatever ( you will need to add those files to the ignore list ).

mickeblue,

It really does not matter if you select the option to NOT install the software. The WinFixer spyware installs no matter what you select. As grimspoon colorfully declares, it is really difficult to remove. The only way I have found to get rid of it is to follow the guidance on this web site:

http://www.spyware-removal-guideline.com/winfixer-removal

I really don´t think skinbase.org is doing themselves any favors by adding this pop up to their site. If skinbase needs the money, they should get a different pop up that doesn´t install spyware. I think this one will give them a bad reputation.

George

I guess I´ve just been lucky then George. My ISP provides pop-up blockers so I haven´t had to deal with this problem.

Yea mickeblue, depends on who you go with and if the files go through filters.

Just got this one in the Email, it has an exe file attached, but my scan revealed a virus as I have anticipated. This is what the body of the message said:

Dear Sir/Madam,

we have logged your IP-address on more than 30 illegal Websites.

Important:
Please answer our questions!
The list of questions are attached.

Yours faithfully,
Steven Allison

*** Federal Bureau of Investigation -FBI-
*** 935 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Room 3220
*** Washington, DC 20535
*** phone: (202) 324-3000
