Got realy good just using a Canon AE Got stolen! Bought a Canon Rebel (just as good) But My scanners RES. sucks I want the newer Canon Digital ($900) for bringing my shots to SB.......... Maybe I´ll buy a new Scanner (Cheaper) :p 😮 😁 ==== 😎
Sed, if this interest you, I bought one month ago the Epson Perfection 4490 Photo and it´s a great all around scanner, being that is pointed towards photography ( films and paper). I was undecided between this one and the 4990, but the difference in price -here almost 200 euros - are not worthy. I am very happy with it. Toby, as far printing photos is concerned, I prefer to put the files on a usb pen , and print them on a local photo shop. It´s cheapper, at leat here in Portugal, as the ink cartrudges just disappear if we use the printer often to print photos.

|O|

Now I am back to the crossing where I wonder whether to take a left or a right - Captain Americas photoshop bootskin is so cool if Vista keeps their wicked boot procedure and I have spare money, should I first get the camera or photoshop. AGGGGGHHHHH :, :( Decisions are an awful thing - almost another topic ;)

The camera and PaintShopPro isn´t a bad substitute and would probably fit your needs at a fraction of the cost. Just a suggestion. ❤️

Again I think that Photoshop is praised by the graphics artists - although I also think that Gimp is almost capable to do the same that Photoshop does ( the problem is that when using Gimp for the first time, its a scary program, but people that are used to work with Photoshop will find quickly their way with The Gimp ). As Sally said the combination of a camera and PaintShop is a good one - personally and when not using Gimp. I use Photoimpact , a great " digital dark room" program, for photography. I use it for 5 years in a row and its simplicity and a lot of wealth features makes it probably the best relation price/features/simplicity/workflow I know. And it is not only pointed towards photography but even to webdesign. and graphics. For webdesign I use Namo Webeditor with good results.

But keeping this thread subject in our minds,- photography, photography, photography - believe me that there are some free software that are perfect matches to any camera, being Photofiltre the one that surprises me the most. And for more 25$, you can have the Studio version. Also PTLens, is a must have for correcting chromatic aberrations, lens distortions, with a big data base in terms of cameras and lenses and can include a plug-in for photoshop.

Just some ideas... |O|
