angel4isus sorry to say but yes to apply any windowblind on your computer you must have Windowblinds installed.But look at the advantages. The pro version is only about 20.00 with one year of updates and look at all the fantastic windowblinds that are available for it today. But hey you could try te free version, it will only work with the windowblind that is supplied with it for about i think its a month or two, but it will definetely give you an idea of what its all about. :Happy

Then I was lucky in the old days when using public I could also apply other skins excepting some premium ones but most of em worked. Now I cant tell you anymore because I went registered from public, oh well. <br /> <br />And I THOUGHT wb also worked from StyleXP or some other non stardock tool. Never tried em though, why use several things? Public stardock was better for me those days because it was time unlimited which did not go for some of the other trial versions...

TAXIFUNK yeah we were all lukcy before Windowblinds 5. As a matter of fact Windowblinds 4.6 will run anything ! But I guress with the new features and that Stardock just wanted to make sure that more people would be purchasing the Pro version. And for the twenty bucks, to my point of view, its well worth it ! I really like all the new features.... :Happy

Cleetus Snow-snowman <br />This information I am giving is information I have gotten from stardock as I do not use the freeware version of windowbindes, I use Pro, I cannot talk with experience I am just saying what I have read and that is that the perplexil (glass) on a lot of windowblinds do not work with the free version from what I have read.If I am wrong I am happy and number two the free version I have also read only works for only 30 to 60 days, so what would be the benefit of using the free version when in 30 or 60 days it doesnt work anymore? There IS no ´free version´ of Windowblinds 5. <br />Ther is, however a Trial version... <br />It has 2 limitations. <br />It will ´expire´ after 60 days [stop working]. <br />and <br />It will only function with the Per-Pixel skins that are included with it, Out-sourced Per Pixel skins will not display that function on the Trial. <br /> <br />The Purchased version is USD 19.95 and is [naturally] fully functional...;)
Hello evryone!It´s good to be back here;actually I think that all of you make this site a very nice place to be,it is very frendly.I found Windowblinds 4.6 full version.Hope that will "fix" my little problem.So thanks for mentioning about this 4.6 version of windowsblinds.I really love that skin of RadioActive Orange. <br />And we allso had a very nice day here,blue sky as far as you can see,no clouds just sun.So it was perfect for a walk in the mountains.This is the last villige and then just fields and mountains.So hope you allso had a nice day.Thank you all again and good night!!
HeHe in fact CLOUDS by BOXXI, an animated titlebar skin long before wb5, was almost the only skin I could not apply with the old public without registering, which I did later, and was worth it, tx for your input, Jafo, and Snowman. <br /> <br />I still like many old skins, and new ones, the effects, and SOMETIMES the looks, too, of course. In example, with the old public I went and added stuff like wizard of oz, halloween, fire fighting, some valentine stuff and had a BALL! But what I like about the new versions is they cooperate with right-click, and WINDOWFX and skinstudios updates, with my forthcoming next pc this will be more fun very soon, I hope. And the builds are really updated often (often several times a week if you like) plus there are more options. <br /> <br />The free versions are a great way to check it out at no risk first. And if you first register icon packager cheap, later you can get a cheap upgrade for wb and the other object desktop things. A modular system for everyone. Not saying its the only one in the world. But it sure stays up to date. Which does not go for all of my beloved old tools... ☕
tss2000.nl is the largest depository of skins that work with StyleXP or patched uxtheme.dll. I fell over when I saw how many skins they had there and it goes right back to three four years ago so you get modern ones plus some good character old skins. :congrats
