I don´t know if there is a possibility to change your toolbar without a program. However there is a program by stardock called Objectbar. Maybe it´s worth a look. :)

There Is Some Tips & Trick For Edit This toolbar But It Really Dangerous For Windows And Not Recommend , So I think It`s better you use some software like stylexp (stylexp builder) and just edit the toolbar that you want ;)

Assuming your Operating system is a windows version:

The skins here mostly are for applications, some of which are cheap or free. Not all by Stardock (for that field you could also consider object BAR, not just dock). But using windows xp for instance, you can make a LOT more than many people really do WITHOUT any additional software...

In example I made myself 3 more bars in addition to the taskbar inside windows itself. Unhacked. A vertical left, a vertical right one, and even a horizontal one in the TOP of the desktop window. All of these custom bars can be set to autohide or not. They can be shaped with several rows (like 6 horizontal and 9 vertical rows of custom shortcuts) each, and even be dragged into the MIDDLE or any place of the desktop and fixed there if you like. Or docked to the edge.

All of this is INSIDE WINDOWS XP and nothing else. The colors and style depend on how you set this either from windows itself. Or, for those who skin everything with external tools, your additional bars or personal start menu created only with windows itself, still can be altered with other resident apps. But that is not a must.

I should think thats not impossible with other OSés either. On the contrary.

Experiment a bit with your own OS in between.

The skins here are split up in sections. Each section has a little caption with text explaining what tool to search for to apply them.

You might just want to make your thing work inside your operating system instead. Only when you have experienced its limits you can see whether or not you prefer additional skinning measures. ;)
