Richard Rosenman Sphere Generator. :congrats ๐ ;) ....it´s free!
STOP PRESS:- If you go to nonags.com/Graphics Tools...you will find a little application for free download called NiGulp....it makes using any photoshop plugin possible in its own standalone environment and can save manipulated image in a wide array of formats. So if a plug in will not function in PhotoPlus you can apply it in NiGulp then move it back to PhotoPlus to finish it off. You may also need plugin dll and mscvrt10 dll. These are available from the IrfanView site as a free download. Unzip them to your system32 Folder. :congrats ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ๐ฎ ๐ฎ ๐ฎ ๐ฎ :brb
Right...the more you play with it the more proficient you get. Don´t be frightened of it. Set yourself an easy task and set about achieving it then go from there. Tutorials are a good start and Photoplus has a comrehensive manual and support. One tip I was given that sees me hassle free is after a session of doing art in any of my programs I disk clean and defrag. Graphics work tends to mess up the files. Keeping the computer in a slick state is half your battle.
reinstalled a while ago now. Everthing seems to be ok but I´m following some tutorials on how to get some chrome effect on text.

Having a laugh trying to sort it out but I´ll just have to figure it out ?

That´s part of the fun ( right? )
I would say you need to re-instal...something has gone wrong there because it functions perfectly okay on both my pc´s,one being a high end job and the other being a bit of a pig its that old!
Cheers but there are no tabs there at all for anything to stacked up on anything else. Unchecking and checking doesn´t work either I´ve tried that.

Niether does shutting down the application, done that as well. If worst comes to the worst I will just have to dump it and reinstall.
Uncheck it and then recheck it...it works on mine. They load on top of one another so maybe yours are all stacked on top of one another and colour tab is there but you cannot see it. You can always shut it down and restart it. Failing that...you have me completely stumped as I can delete mine and recheck it and it shows up no problem.
Thanks but if you mean going to view/color tab and checking that, then that doesn´t seem to work.

indeed all the tabs are checked but none are dislayed.
Look in the toolbar...you will find a part their that lets you put certain things up on the workspace. The manual will explain a lot too.
well that sorted itself out but I´ve now gone and lost my colour palette ( how careless!! )

Any way to get this back??

I´ll try not to post this twice again!
If you use XnView for your phot editor you can link that to your plug in folder...it too accomodates use of many photoshop plugins so what does not work in photoplus will likely work in XnView. XnView works well as an album viewer and also has many filters and effects of its own and can also edit to a certain extent too. By having both on your computer you more or less have all your bases covered....it is also freeware.
What I do is place a plug ins folder on C:\ Drive and nominate that as the plug ins folder. As I said Photoplus accepts photoshop plug ins but not all. You may need to instal the plug in dll pack from thepluginsite.com. As for the plugs that work it will be trial and error. A lot do work though. :congrats
Hello, I just installed Focal Blade into the plugins folder of photoplus, went to preferences and got the directory path but nothing happened.

Any suggestions?
Hello, I just installed Focal Blade into the plugins folder of photoplus, went to preferences and got the directory path but nothing happened.

Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I´m going on hols fairly soon but I´m taking my laptop with me and these applications will give keep me busy for a while. ๐
Yes Vikram...if you go and look at Boxxi´s page his work will astound you. He has only ever used Photoshop 5 , an old adobe version and yet people with Photoshop 7 and Adobe CS can´t get anywhere near him for quality or innovation. It is what you do with your tools and how you use them that counts, status of the software means little really. If I can be of any further help just send me a message. :congrats ๐ ;)
ZPaint is another interesting little application that you can do a lot with. When you start using it it reveals more and more of its potential especially if the base art generated is taken into other applications and worked on further. You do not need top of the line applications to create simple pleasing desktops. It is a question of knowing what to load up and whether it is compatible with most popular plug ins or filters. I started out with UFX which is still about in its original form which is more versatile than the currently available version. I used that with plug ins and was accused on more than one occassion that I was using photoshop. That gave me a bit of a laugh. Whilst top end applications like Photoshop have definite advantages you appreciate and understand them more if you stretch the parameters of the freeware apps first. Experimentation is the key.
There are several image viewers that are freeware that are available. MS Paint will cut circular shapes and Irfanview has a lot of things with it. Try Gimp. It´s freeware and some say better and easier than Photoshop. โค๏ธ
Really? I´ll check that out Iain. Thanks. โค๏ธ
I strongly recommend you The Gimp. It´s easier than photoshop and maybe better, depending on your preferences. I have both and never use photoshop :Happy
Thanks for all your advice. The Gimp application certainly does have a pretty good reputation although some people seem to think that the interface is a bit tricky to handle especially for ´innocents´ such as myself.

I´ve also heard/read a lot of good things about paint.net but you do need to be in a dot net emnvironment.

Still checking out other stuff. Wiardbrush seems to be something quite apt basically because it´s aimed at children and seems to be a good place to start. Anyone heard of it?
Sorry for another one but I can´t seem to figure out how MSPaint can cut a circular image from a rectangular one. Everytime I try it insists on pasting a rectangular frame around the circle.

The ´help´ section is also really naff but once again it is a good place to start.

( Also that should read ´Wizardbrush´ up above ).

Since Richard Rosenmans´ Sphere Generator is PS plugin would you need to have either PS or PSP to use it? :what
Any photoshop compatable plugin application will run it like ACDSee or UFX or any nunber of others including XnView which is free.
I just tried GIMP and it completely trashed my laptop. :(
Thanks ´mountainhawk´ I´ll have a go at that then.
Iain you are great at finding good stuff. There is also a DrawPlus4 freeware that looks interesting also.
Dear Mr Mountainhawk, thank you so so much for your suggestion regarding Photoplus 6. Awesome especially for an ´innocent´ like myself.
Cheers for that. I´ll definiitely keep an eye open. It´s good to have some inside knowledge especially when it comes from people willing to share, like all of you.

I guess it´s not purely a question of waving around wads of cash for something with a ´good´ name. I´m sure there are plenty of people out there who may have the ´best´ software but actually don´t have a clue what to do with it.
Dear Mr. Mountainhawk. Just got back from hols literally and have actually done quite a lot of work whilst away ( a little tip when going to Europe at the end of the football season ( that´s football where you actually kick the ball about 80% of the time and don´t run with it or chuck it hence the name FOOTball ) when Seville is the destination, the night is the UEFA Cup Final and they are in the process of completely stuffing English opposition ).

I´ve got about 9 new logons to upload all done with PPlus 6 - which is a truley excellent application from my point of view anyway. They´re trying to flog me v8, it´s only £10 so I may well do that. Glad to see this thread still going or actually is it?

If anyone is still reading this thread then thanks a lot for everyone´s contribution, there´s a lot of stuff here to digest.

Sorry about the little rant above but they´ll be calling whoever wins the MLB the World Champions next. Anyone remember the 1/4 finals of the Fall Classic!! Misuse of proper sporting terminology really winds me up though.

Gotta go before I get lynched or get banned fro this site :fun
Glad it is all going well for you vikram and I look forward to seeing these logons you have created.....you never stop learning my friend! :congrats ๐ ;)
