OP
In this day and age I think pop ups as a revenue earner do more to drive people away than attract them and I certainly do not like tracking cookies either.

Its really on top of our black hit list, isnΒ΄t it? :what Meanwhile I got shortcuts handy to my cookies and could almost set up a daily deletion macro. Because sometimes this works faster than my freggin full security measures slow me down if I always apply them all. :p Fact thats an idea. I might instruct actual window manager to terminate windows with that name in the title bar on startup...

My Cookie Pal can be set to refuse cookies from any AD-CLICK this or that you design it to do. Its from Kookabura, I dont have a link but its ez to find and either cheap or free. Ive had it on every PC I come in contact with since 1997. Try this www.kookabura.com
Or search it up. Pop-up blocker stuff is different.

Hi I told every one a bit back to read this item about this vicious pop up...

Scumware/Scamware Warning
"WinFixer" AKA "ErrorFree"
Windows All Versions

We´ve recently (and unfortunately) stumbled upon another Internet scam, this one called "WinFixer" (AKA "ErrorFree"). Rarely have we encountered such a misleading advertisement or a more persistent attempt at installing software without meaningful user consent. Recognizing this malware product is the most important defense you have against it, so please visit this page http://thundercloud.net/infoave/answers/fixer/index.htm to read the this very important alert and tip including actual screen shots of our encounter with "WinFixer" (ErrorFree).

That makes for scarey reading... right click and close on the taskbar in future!

Yep...SpyAxe and SpyGuard operate in the same manner...if you click on the window to get rid of it it instals anyway and it takes quite an evolution to rid your computer of it. What pisses me off is they know you won´t use it so basically they just do it out of nuisance and maliciousness. One day they might properly police the internet to squash this kind of crap. 😎

In firefox when I clean up cookies and also tick block acceptance of removed cookies in the future that seems to work. In IE6 I still might make a macro. But the cookie folders should be checked often anyway.

You can do all that Taxi and yes it works ,however, it is negated the minute you come back on the site. It is simply nuisance value and does not assist in endearing people to the site. There has to be a more suitable way than dumping tracking cookies and spyware on peoples computers and I find it audacious to say the least that these companies consider they have a right to place those items without request on our computers not to mention the fact that it is counter productive for them recieving any kind of positive support. I am building quite a shit list of advertisers I despise on the internet due to their malicious behaviour. πŸ˜‚
