It´s in the process of being made. Still a concept I guess you´d say. I´m trying to see what people want to win first :) It´ll make the news when it happens and Elwin will be open to monetary gifts ;)

The problem is I ´might´ have some prizes setup for competitions. ;) If people submit XP styles (or whatever those things are called) and they win a copy of NextSTART it´s possibly not what they wanted. Visa-versa too if someone make a NextSTART theme and wins a registered copy of SyleBuilder. <BR> <BR>And Elwin already has NextSTART so he don´t need to enter ;)

Why not make it app independent, but more shelllike. So people could skin WinStep, or HoverDesk or LiteStep or whatever. Perhaps a subject like an ice theme? <BR> <BR>

A good visual style takes weeks, months. A simple recoloring takes a couple of days. You´ll know what you´ll get, mostly. Not that there´s no hope, slowly some original stuff is getting released, and people are learning from eachother (just found this great trick to disable startbutton text/icon :)). But at this time, maybe put the focus on something else.

Alrighty, XP´s arrived through the blue disk network. Damn those default skins are ugly... Besides, there´s no obvious means of making them, other than hacking files and such. Before I´ve figured all that out, it´ll be months . Then making an actual skin... *gasp* *horror*

lol @ Randy .. I have XP and had it since the first beta Whistler release. <BR> <BR>But I also know that Bill don´t like me playing with his toys or he would have made provisions for it... So I will stick to LS here. It sounds like it´s a lot easier to skin anyhow. Actually, I wonder how long it would take me to make a good XP port for LS.. I´m sure it wouldn´t take months :P

Anyhow, so if using/themeing visual styles is too involved for a competition, how about something like a theme competition using something well known like WinStep products? Heck, I´ve skinned NextSTART before. It can´t be hard ;) <BR> <BR>Who´d want to get involved in that? Prizes of course :D (if interest and participation are there of course).

Of course you know, that now that there´s an official tutorial for HoverDesk, that would make a pretty good contest, too... ;) <BR> <BR>And before you start chucking rocks at me, Jason - I already own the program, so no need for me to be anything more than an all powerful judge... {:p
