The number of posts the originator has made and their total lack of feedback or clarification tells me they really are not interested in help but more interested in nuisance value. :congrats 😎 ;)

I won´t comment all threads separately, but just for the record:

(Sometimes mixed up because they all sound similar + come in at about the same time, when you start up your computer using windows as your operating system)

By default windows first shows you a BOOT SKIN, the default windows boot image in low resolution + quality because pc is still loading things to later get to the welcome screen in better quality + res. (this second phase is by default the other welcome pic in blue if using xp, the LOGON SCREEN.

Here, in default setting your pc waits for you to select which user (account) you want to login with.

Until you decide on that by clicking on user account button with your mouse, and during the phases before, in the background, by default, a windows LOGON SCREEN SAVER is also active. If you dont click anything at all for some minutes, that shows automatically (windows logo wandering around a black screen).

With free windows powertools by Microsoft or tools like X-Setup Pro, you can change that screensaver to a different one of your preference.

With X-Setup Pro you can also tweak windows not to show the login phase at all but instead automatically login to a prearranged user account (then, depending on settings, you might see the WELCOME SCREEN a few seconds and then your normal desktop appears).

With programs like bootskin, as mentioned in the other thread, you can substitute WHICH bootskin you see before the login phase. In fact, from ms config.exe you can arrange for not seeing ANY bootskin at all even without using the bootskin program.

With program logon loader, star loader, logonstudio and the likes you can change WHICH login background image appears, unless you have deactivated that with other tools.

Deactivating the boot screen SAVER before login phase is not meant for at all. AFTER login, from your properties - display panel you can control which OTHER screensaver appears after a time you select when inactive and in THAT phase, you can also tell windows not to use any screensaver at all.

Often boot screen, login screen, welcome picture and login screen saver are confused with each other or mixed up with the NORMAL screensaver. ;)

Hope I managed to make everything completely confusing now so no one will ever ask again (joke). Yes, and have a nice week :taxi

I think I agree that this person is not really looking for help, just maybe trying to log off some posts or whatever, but on the other hand, maybe it helps someone else, never know... :Happy

Hostile crowd. Looks like he was genuinely asking for help.

You welcome, rikardo. Bit hot these days, craeonics got a point. No offense :sen If you have further questions, maybe we can just keep em here to keep it simple. Asking is no sin of course. And you might find some answers under the existing help topics of the messageboard. But you can tell us how you are doing if you like
