There´s lots of stuff you could do (no, I don´t need another personal icon, though I´ll make one if you would implement that), it´s just that silence won´t make a breakthrough, and Scarebear can´t make it live on his own. Basically, just hoping something´s planned here :)...
I would LOVE to try and help create a new design etc for this site. I really want to see this site become a lot more popular. If things from the original design can be implemented into the new design I think this site will rock.<BR><BR>gRAVE, contact me if you are interested in any ideas I have. I don´t want to impose myself though. your call.
Plastic´s got a point. Sadly I´m rarely here. One reason for it is ´cos I need a vivid board in order to stay interested and this site seems so deserted. Another reason is the design (or lack thereof). I hope Scarebear can whip something up to improve that.

Collapsing the empty groups is a VERY good feature for this site to have. Love that :)
I am happy to say that despite just about _all_ of the skins sites being back online, skinbase have retained it´s healthy visitor numbers... Have a safe and happy Christmas everyone who has contributed to making skinbase what is is today!
1. Interaction......... I love teknedermy´s "pop-up chat box" it is the coolest I´ve seen yet :-) really has a sleek look and also has all the smilelys inside the chat box to choose from........ <BR> <BR>2. The site´s skins need "life" to them, sorry I don´t mean to hurt any one´s feelings. the skins are done well and colors look nice here, but gRave your limited in being able to do site skins only one way, and that is what chichi calls a "flat face"......... need a better program to code a skin like I wanted to do for a Christmas site skin, 3D look with shading....... <BR>please don´t get mad, it´s just a chichi opinion :-) <BR> <BR>3. Some one is going to do it sooner or later, why not it be gRave....... pipe in some music, like personal sites do, with a option that if some one don´t want music they can choose in their profile a box with the option "no music" even using full playing midi files are very low in kb......... and some pages like the Chat box as an example with "sound effects" ok my big mouth and my thinking out loud probably has got me the basement from now on to use here lol
I agree with most of you. Skinbase seems deserted and it really doesn´t feel like a tight knit community. Why that is I´m not sure. An active IRC room would help. A new layout (i.e. less clutter on the main page with forums near the top will help too. Also people need to comment on skins more. Just my thoughts. I love Skinbase and want it to be here forever. The biggest plus about skinbase is that it has the most comprehensive categorie list - more apps than on any other site =).

I kinda like that skinbase doesn´t have a ´community´ as such. <BR>Some of the reasons why that is so... maybe: <BR> <BR>1 - Site admins are not treated like Gods, there is no ´cult´ folowing here <BR>2 - Everyone is also treated with equal importance, and that has a negative effect with ´ego´ driven maniacs. <BR>3 - Comments here are not ´expected´ to be religiously given by anybody, and the comments box and ratings are there as a helpfull option, not an obligation. <BR>4 - Skinning should be fun, after all, this is our ´hobby´ and it shouldn´t replace your real life activities. To many people take skinning ´way to seriously´. <BR>5 - There is a very relaxed and mature attitude present at skinbase that have attracted me in the first place. This has, and always will be, a serious attempt to produce a skin site that will be totaly independent from powerfull application manufacturers and skin syndicates. <BR>6 - Flame me if you will, but skinbase is also the only ´non American´ skin site out of the major players. Some people may still think that only Yanks can do it right ;) <BR>7 - And finally, skinbase admins are involved with other projects and have shown great support for other community sites. I don´t see that many, DA, skinz or custo admins getting invloved on skinbase.. in actuall fact, it is only skinbase along with LOS admins that are showing a ´true´ community spirit these days. WC is still viewed as ´evil stardock instrument of manipulation´ which is sad, cause the guys out there are doing a good job. <BR> <BR>Heh... these are just some points that prolly great many will disagree with, but.. I will stay here for as long as skinbase remains what it is, in my opinion.. a true skin site without the dross 8)
At any rate, SKinBase is still around nine months after a drunk Plastic started this thread. And I can say it is much much more vivid than in the old days.
ok, me go button up my lip, was just some suggestions since the thread was brought back up......... I have been here a long time and I always said I like skinbase and has great potential, but its been kind of lacking interaction lately, or maybe its just me at this time of year for me is not so good..........
Its also that time of year. Lots of us are running around trying to get a handle on this christmas thing.
