Artur - <br /> <br />I am a mere beginner compared to your vast experience. Thats a fact. I have always considered myself nothing more than a &quot;point and shoot&quot; photographer. I only took shots on my vacations, and they were rather simple, and dull. It was only in the last year or so (and I am 40 years old now) that I discovered that I can actually &quot;compose&quot; a shot. The color or black and white issue is an afterthought for me, but I do prefer color - only because its the way we do see the world and it fits better with what I enjoy shooting most. Oceans, mountains, flowers, sunsets, sunrises...The heart of my photography interest is in landscapes - and for me color works best. Though one could certainly argue that point, looking at your latest upload. :) <br /> <br />I do occasionally present a black and white - when it &quot;feels&quot; right to me. But my heart is with color. <br /> <br />I&acute;ll close with this... what you do... you do well! Don&acute;t read too much into it Artur! Follow your heart!! :)

I agree with both of you, my friends! <br />When photography has to do with shapes, light and shadows then B/W fits better or sometimes is a &quot;must&quot; because the absence of color lets us concentrate on the main subject and evaluate it accurately. Do you remember &quot;Curved Perspective&quot; from me (http://www.skinbase.org/rate.php?skins=39961), which was in sepia tone? This photo was considered good enough to be featured, too. Well, I dare say that the original &quot;color edition&quot; was an everyday photo and nothing else. <br />On the other hand, when the subject has interesting vivid contrast colors and not so many &quot;strict&quot; shapes, then colour capture maintains its beauty, either this is a flower, a face, a garden or a daylight landscape. I say &quot;daylight&quot; because night landscapes are many times better in B/W. <br />I also think that there are subjects that are well expressed in either B/W or color. In this case the criterion is the personal mood of the moment.

You&acute;re right Giannis, as far as I remenber the only captures I make in colour are leaves, flowers and very strong coloured subjects. The issue here is that when photographing, I am looking more often for light, shadows, textures and contrasts than colour itself.I guess it is my &quot;default&quot; way of capturing |O|

Yes Artur. And this exactly is every photographer&acute;s personal way of expression and creation. From my side, I usually concentrate on color subjects but I also love to hunt for interesting textures and patterns. In such occasions I usually extend my zoom to the upper limit, to fill the frame with the pattern and exclude undesirable surroundings.

Artur - I guess I will have to put up a B and W WALLPAPER just for you! With a lot of light and dark and mid tones and sharpness :) I will get right on it this weekend! 😎
