It has been like that for as long as I have been here........ don´t know who it is and have never seen the skin or the name any where else :-)
It´s because that skin is linked to directly from the official Talisman website. The Talisman website doesn´t have it´s own archive. They have a skin gallery where all the downloads come from the various skin sites. <BR> <BR>So most of those downloads are not even from Skinbase users if you follow me. <BR> <BR>You can see this skin you mention on the last page of their theme gallery if you want to see what I mean.
Well that´s not right. I mean I´m looking everywhere for server space because I´m too cheap to pay for it except the 10 megs i´m paying for now. I would save alot of space linking straight to skins sites. But it´s not right to have other paying for your bandwidth uses. <BR> <BR>My 2 cents.
I have agree with Brub. <BR>I never understood that policy. <BR>Don´t get me wrong - I like Talisman. <BR>But to the best of my knowledge, no other shareware, or freeware for that matter, gets this option. <BR>As a matter of fact, if gRAVE allowed this with lots of other apps, his bandwidth would go through the roof - and nothing to show for it. <BR>:(

It has been looked into and a solution has been put in place by gRAVE. Any site outside Skinbase linking directly to a download file will have that link redirected to the file´s rate/review page. <BR> <BR>So for example, the case mentioned here (Talsiman theme) is linked to directly by the Talisman themes gallery. But when you click on the download link there, Skinbase will now popup in a new window showing the page for the file you were about to download. <BR> <BR>The user still gets to download, but they now know where they are downloading from. Skinbase actually registers a hit and hopefully finds a new member who perhaps didn´t know of Skinbase. Talisman still gets to link to Skinbase´s files. <BR> <BR>How´s that?

No one here will ever see first place under "stats" not even treetog or adni18? :-) <BR> <BR>I´m only asking this due to those that are supporting this sites bandwidth........ I donated for skinbase, and my skin zip files from my site that I pay for are not linked to my skins files here....... boy would my skins download counts go high and save my bandwidth??????
1. I think every other file from the Talisman site links to deviantART and LOS. And I don´t think rtetzlaff has any other skins here. This isn´t his fault just so we know. He uploaded here like he should have ;) <BR> <BR>2. No other´s I´m aware of. But if they are, they´ll get the same popup now. <BR> <BR>3. It may happen. It will just take a long, long time :( <BR> <BR>Back when I had my own skin archive, I could have saved money and made my download count rise higher too by linking to other sites like Skinbase instead of hosting them myself (as I did). <BR> <BR>But that ain´t right! ;)
