I could be as simple as re-installing it. Not take it out and put back in, but by command. I hope it will be something easy for you. :)

Check that the cables are not to fault by switching the new hard drives cables with another
not the c drive though. then try leaveing the new one plugged in and removing the cable to one of the spare hard drives. if it stays put it means the drive is fine but chances are the power supply can´t meet the demands off all the equipment. I know you may think if it was on once that it couldn´t be the power supply, but power needs change during use! of course I had something simmilar once that was just a dieing hard drive( but it was old and used!).

I am tending to agree with you that it is the power source. Jeez, you know, sometimes I really hate computers and I appreciate your help. LOL Power source is about the only thing I know about computers. ❤️

Hi Sally....okay so we wont bother with that because sometimes you can get a harddrive without any installation C.D. and then you have to use a Start Up disk to activate it, but we wont discuss that seeing it did come with a C.D. There is only 2 things that I can see. One is that it is the wrong harddrive or it is defective. If all cables and everything are connected properly there is no reason for it not to work. My advice would be to return it to where you bought it and they will replace it with another one or at least they should. Here in Canada we have 10 days to bring it back to the store and have it replaced by the store immediately. And to make it simpler for them if you can bring one of your harddrives with you that work properly so that the sales rep or technician can verify that they are both the same. Good Luck.... :Happy

Yeah, but there is some relevant info further down the page about setting jumpers for slave drives and bios limitations :,

No Fred it wasn´t. But it disappeared off the list after about 6 hours and the drive felt very warm. So I think it is the power source. ❤️

Mickey Blue Eyes I will reread the information. You are just too cute.

Love to all ❤️
