zathrus..... I did as you instructed and the results........ Not removing attributes hidden folders and I seen all the folders thats not being changed only...... and then it quits! <BR> <BR>All files in wblinds and icon packager and connecting icon files in plus! themes are still "Read me only files" :-( but the folders attributes are normal only! <BR> <BR>Could this be code to change the "folder attributes" only and does not include fileslike/.bmp/.icon ?????
Hmm, very wierd. Go into a directory that has a couple .BMPS that you know are readonly, and if "attrib -R *.bmp" does nothing to the bitmaps in that directory then theres definately something up with your system. Virus? At this point I don´t have a Windows machine to play around with, so any ideas guys?
Zathrus..... if I go into wblinds folder and right click on a .bmp file and then click on "properties I can remove the checked box to remove the read me only and then the files attributes is "normal" but hell that would be hundres of files I would have to do one by one manually :-( but they can be changed, but Dos/did not change the files only the folders :-(

Chichi, <BR>Try going to find--files or folder and searching for .bmp´s. This should pull up every .bmp on the system. <BR>Once, this is done select all and go to properties. I know the it will show the ´read only´ check box but I don´t know if it will let you uncheck it for all of them at once here.

IE 6 and Outlook Express 6....... Could I have boo booed when I backed up the files? The only thing that has me confused with this thearoy is why programs, .exe, zip files don´t have this problem! My other therory might been winzip 8.1 some I draged and dropped and others I extracted, but can not rmember which one would have done it :-( <BR> <BR>The last resort is format again :-( On the other hand I´m going to Sam´s Cub tonight to check their computers out, maybe I´ll get lucky, yeah right...........
Well I bought a new computer...... and guess what? This suckssssssssss, I naturaly went to Microsofts "windows Updates" and installed all criticals and drivers........... and the first thing I installed on my computer is my Object Desktop and when I installed "WINDOW BLINDS" yep on startup the stupid "cofiguration window" comes up every time I reboot and it freeze´s my computer.......... :-( this really suckssssssss <BR> <BR>I have looked in the "displays properties" window and NO settings to stop the Wblinds from coming up on startup........ I also looked for the option in the dumb "configuration" window itself and that option is no longer there either :-( also I looked for the option in "component tray" and not there either................... what the hell, as you can see I´m pissed that windowblinds now is causing problems on my new computer and I´m just about to email frogboy his instruction on what to do with the hammer and bag of sand I gave him awhile back............ lol lol lol
