I think the idea of having a site message service is great! I personally don´t use it due to the fact that I do not know enough people here. If I did however, I would use it regularily I think.<BR><BR>As for the flash vs html versions ... I don´t really see a difference other than the copy and paste deal. It is a bit confusing to start of with. I clicked ´Send SMS´ and nothing happened. I sat there thinking, ´Did it go?´ So what I would suggest, is a notification stating the message was sent after the click. Another idea may be a small text link under the SMS panel to a help (explination) type page. Let people know what the SMS unit is, how it works, and how it can enhance their visit to Skinbase!<BR><BR>MediaOhgr<BR>Life Sucks! Get a Helmet!
I think SMS is very usefull, I just haven´t been here due to working so hard on my little corner of this world my site :-) and trying to keep up with my skinning to he hee!
I read about your dedication site and I´m sorry to hear about your loss. I hope you get everything you are looking for to make the site complete.
Don´t have a cell phone or the urge to SMS and that chat is weird. Last time I used that I was guest permanently. Maybe change that chat into a shoutbox thing where I can just enter a line of text wihthout having to specifically go to the chat page (or in other words, integrate it a bit more).
I´m not sure how to use SMS. I get messages but do I replace the message with my reply? there are two boxes below the message box--do you type in the person you want to respond to in the Receiver box, and what do you put in the bottom box? your reply?Do you delete the message you received first? Sorry to be so ignorant. I like the feature but...
The top (largest) box has the message in it that you read from someone else. The first of the small boxes (under the text ´message´) is where you type the message you want to send to another registered skinbase member and the last box (under the text ´reciever´ - which should be spelt ´receiver´) :) is where you type the member name of the person you want to receive your message.<BR><BR>Then click the SEND SMS button to send. Nothing will appear to have happened until you click on the next skinbase page you wish to visit as it is not auto-refreshing. You can test the system by sending a message to yourself too :)<BR><BR>Let me know if that does or does not help.
