POP UPs

To my knowledge the popup ad here at Skinbase only comes once every 24 hours :)

Hmm, I read something about adds the other day in "New.Architect: Internet Strategies for Technology Leaders" (title says it all, yuppie marketing magazine), about text-based adds instead of banners.Basic idea was that they are much more efficient, acceptable and profitable than banners and there evil spawn the popup. Thanks Sed, I knew I could count on you. I also agree that popups are evil.. there should be another way of keeping the site online. I´ve never met anyone that actually likes them! lol

No more whinning but I had to turn off POP up stopper just to read the message board ...... I´m willing to spend the cash for a subscription or somethinng.

just to make it (more) clear (?): <BR>what i posted it happened to me few days ago and i don&acute;t know it was fault of my browser, fault of skinbase ad robot or fault of weather conditions or some bad magic in the air or whatever else... <BR>it just happened to me and i&acute;ve had to switch pop-ups off. of course before that day it was everithing all right - only one pop-up a day appeared in my opera as BruB and Snow says. I had to refuse pop-up windows in my opera simply because it was opening new windows and eated too much of my cpu and memory. today i tried &acute;carefully&acute; LOL to switch it on to accept pop-ups again and it seems it is all right again. no uncontrolled poping-up today so i will keep it on until the bad magic will come again (i hope it&acute;ll not) ;)

Guys.. I think everyone is missing the point here. This site costs money to run and pop ups are the &acute;only&acute; revenue generating we have to keep it online. We already need a bigger hard drive for your skins and our proc is finding it hard to keep up with all the MySql requests. <BR> <BR>So please, no more &acute;whining&acute;, if you are trully concerned about skinbase you would give me at least 10 clicks a day, comprende!?!? <BR> <BR>If you have any other suggestions as to how we are going to pay for all this and the bandwidth, I will be more then happy to consider it! 🌙 :evil :p :-)

it&acute;s weird, I&acute; not in Europe or Down under. I&acute;m in north america like you buddy and no pop up. Maybe it as to do with some sort of configuration on your system. I get the pop-up once every day and that&acute;s all. Weird! <BR> <BR>I doN,t think it&acute;s skinbase or Ad-flow. I think it&acute;s your system. No offense here.

Snowman ... Buddy, they come up every 10 secs here in the states... I can&acute;t visit SKINBASE till I get home with the EXplorer 6 cookie killerr and my pop-up&quot;STOPPER&quot; <BR>Thats a big reason I don&acute;t say hello more :0 STOPPER (z-net) not STARTER sorry

I&acute;m using good old IE6.0 with no fancy pop-up killer on WinME, and I only ge the Skinbase Pop-up about once a day. Even thought I visit the site about 10 times a day. Am I doing something right?

i visited skinbase.org today andunfortunatelly i had to switch now to &quot;refuse pop-up windows&quot; option in my opera because it suddenly started to pop-up uncontrollably new and new windows in neverending loop!!! :(

adni: yep I use ITabs, won&acute;t leave home without it ;) I just love it, haven&acute;t used any other browser for a year now! And prolly never will!! Been doing some &quot;extensive&quot; testing for Rich (the author) and suggesting some new additions. :) I am &quot;usually&quot; one of the first knowing about anything new happening, cause I am &quot;the biggest ITabs fan on Earth&quot; LOL , damn I made one of the first skins for it too..... which I btw still use :) Oki, nuff talk, DOWNLOAD IT!!!!!!
