Travelian the only purpose is to expose the portfolios of good designers..Im surprised you might think Im making money out of it! Im not even hosting the sites.. adport is just a browser.. those little banner sites that you see are on the user&acute;s own servers. <br />Im not making a single penny.. I earn my living doing web design and usability reports. <br />to give you an idea of how useful adport has been.. my friend simon was approached by the Young Creatives network here in the uk and they want to run a profile on him on their site! <br /> <br />How it works is that a designer or artist designs their own banner site.. it has to be very well designed... hence the skinner appeal! and it should showcase their work in a creative fashion inside a 468x60 pixel banner that they host on their own site! <br />Then they host it themselves on their webspace and email me a link so I can review it. <br /> <br />If their work is good then its featured on adport.. and seen by at least 2000+ people in a week.. <br /> <br />surely thats good! <br /> <br /> <br />Thanks scarebear thats a fair comment. my friend had a script going to show the sites when you&acute;d click on them in the list.. but it doesnt work on IE 5 for the mac... that would have easily enabled anyone on a slower connection or with less time to see whichever sites they liked.. instead of seeing them one after the other.. imagine if there were 300 or more sites.. then it would be difficult to view them all..especially on a slower connection. so maybe your idea to display a couple at a time might be quite useful. <br /> <br /> <br />

I liked what I saw actually. Some really cool little banner advertisements for people&acute;s websites. I think more than one per page would be nice for someone on a slow connection like me :)

Hmm...could you explain how this works and what the purpose is a little better? Like is this to make money or just expose sites?

sorry for scaring you.. ! <br />there is no major plan about this.. its just an art project.. seriously... <br />Im a student.. I have no marketting plans under my sleeve...Im not recruiting an army of banner designers.. I just got together with a friend who knew more about coding javascript than me.. and we decided to do a project together.. <br />we thought it would be cool to get people to design complete portfolio sites inside banners. we developed adport.. so you could browse peoples banners from one location.. <br /> <br />there will never be any advertisements on our page ever..just nicely designed bannersites. <br />

hello Scarebear.. <br />thanks for asking.. we&acute;re looking for well designed banner sites from professional designers and artists.. at the moment the ones you see on adport are designed by Multimedia Students._Including myself :) <br /> I have two 3d artists working on theirs and Im looking forward to seeing people within the skinning/icon editing commmunity exploiting this opportunity.. The site is having a tremendous amount of hits... so I guess theres a lot of interest focused on it... <br /> <br />
