Visualisations

Do people actually use it? I know skinbase isthe mother of all Skins site by accpeting everything. But let´s not waste dear precious bandwidth!

I&acute;m not sure what the correct thing to do is actually. Hence my asking here ;) <br /> <br />But if we don&acute;t open sections for other visualisations, why keep the AVS section? What makes the Winamp visualisations so special? <br /> <br />And if we keep this site as only a skin site (it is <b>skin</b>base after all), then why do we need/have sections for Photography and Web Design? Should they go too?

As long as there is space on the server, and bandwidth,.. why not? <br />Yesterday I was typing an about text for some software program, I added the text &acute;Skinbase has over 200 sections&acute; but ive just seen that it has over 400 sections, thats great! Keep it that way! <br /> <br />BTW. We need sections for all the differnt Babya Releases. And sections for project orca :p

I don&acute;t think visualisations take much space at all. <br /> <br />Personally though, I&acute;m not sure we should have sections here for them. Or anything else non-skinning. Maybe on DA or AU, but they are more-than-skin sites.

I&acute;ve made two visualisations for example, both 2kbs each :)

Vis&acute;s and other plugins aren&acute;t skins by definition...hense i don&acute;t think it would make sense to have a section for them.

<br />Wallpapers aren&acute;t skins, but they can a vital part of skin themes and their overall appearance, and add ambience to even the most simple skins. <br /> <br />Fonts aren&acute;t skins, but they can add dramatically to the look and feel of a skin. <br /> <br />Color schemes aren&acute;t skins either, but a skin or theme can suffer from the lack of the proper one... <br /> <br /> <br />Oh, I&acute;m sorry. As long as the bandwidth is not suffering, then I don&acute;t see a problem either, I like the &quot;One Stop shopping&quot; :-) point /me in the direction of the push karts chuckle chuckle

Wallpapers aren&acute;t skins and we have a section for them. <br /> <br />Fonts and Colour Schemes we don&acute;t have sections for though. So I&acute;m no closer to knowing what to do with visualisations ;) <br /> <br />Unless /elwin: is suggesting we open sections for Fonts and Colour Schemes. :D

personally, i think that everything that&acute;s already here fits well with skinning, whether it is direct &quot;skinning&quot; or not. except maybe the photography section... that&acute;s more art than skinning. <br /> <br />i think that as long as it has a specific use for enhancing the appearance of your computer, a computer program or can enhance in any specific way the visual aspect of your computer, than it should be here... so i would have to say that visualizations do have a place here--especially since there is already a current section for AVS Presets. <br /> <br />i would also have to question the aptness of the web design category, although that seems to be a grey area...

Fonts, icons, and wallpapers for a desktop are newbie desktop skining. Visual plugins are plugins are just that... plugins. There&acute;s a difference here :P
