Crashed my PC removing shellon.exe

well you forgot to remove shellOn as the shell. You must set explorer or some other shell as the shell before you uninstall ShellON. If only you had read the ReadMe.txt file. <br /> <br />Anyway, what version of Windows are you on?

i was on 98 ut just received instructions on how to fix it in DOS and did. Thanks anyway!

you have to press F8 key when booting windows. From this menu then you choose &quot;Command prompt only&quot; option. <br />now type &quot;edit&quot; to get into the MSDOS text editor. here open c:\windows\system.ini <br />search a line that says: <br />SHELL=C:\SHELLON.... <br />change it to: <br />SHELL=EXPLORER.EXE <br />save. <br />reboot.

That is a classic example of rtfm (which we are all guilty of not doing at some point). I hope he got it fixed and didn&acute;t format. I know ppl that have done that. :P
