I would go in Scotland, in the middle of the Highlands, or in Iceland. That´s not too far... But I dream to see New Zeland marvelous landscapes, the ones that can be seen in Lord of the Rings.
Dunno if you actually could it "getting away from it", but whenever I sit down in front of the pewter I generally "lose contact" with the rest of the world - might sound weird but that´s my kind of relaxing!! :D <br /> <br />My Shangri-La is a whole diff place though! <br />For years Australia have had a sorta dragging effect on me and this fealing haven´t gotten weaker after I got in touch with a bunch of Aussie maniacs via IRC/ICQ, like Scarebear, Transmutate, Pacca, Jelly and Jafo. :D <br />And the misses and I are planning for a future trip "down under", where I hope to/dream of meeting if not all, then at least some of´em! <br />Dunno if it ever become more than a dream though. Traveling to Australia will cost us heaps of dosh, cause visiting Australia and actually get something out of the trip can´t be done in the "standard" holiday time of the typically two weeks travel!! Nah, we´re thinking that around six month (at least) should do it :) <br /> <br />So if we one day hit the jackpot: <br />Scarebear: Stay home from Uni! <br />Transmutate/Pacca: Book the ToTe for a week ;)
I would love to visit Hawaii, a secluded Island he hee..... then definitely scuba diving, I would love to be in the mitts of the beautiful gorgeous sea life....... but I´ll never see and experience this because I can not fly :-( <br /> <br />But my reality get away is like, Snowy say´s my "computer" it has taken me around the world and have many many good friends that I would have never ever met, friends in Russia, England, Australia, Hawaii, Netherlands, France, Germany, Japan, Canada, Slovenia and Denmark, Portugal, China, even in my own country USA, and even an experience in nee deep nee deep land :-)
I pack up the car and head for the coast. :)
for me it´s the beach to hear crashing waves and smell salty air and look at the sky, preferably at night on a full moon but I´ll take whatever time permits there... <br />(I´m not an explorer much)
