OP
if you have any weird popup/ad blockers activated, deactivate it and try again

I did have the ad blocker that is part of Norton Internet Security activated, so I deactivated it. Still no luck. Very strange! :,

However, this weekend I will be putting in a new hard drive and reinstalling Windows XP and all my other software. Perhaps, after all that is done, the problem will be gone.....if not, I´ll get back to you.

Thanks. :-)

aha... so it wanna play rough....

OK, try this then:
1) Logout of Skinbase
2) Close your browser
3) Delete all Skinbase cookies (normally in windows\cookies)
4) Start your browser again
5) Log into Skinbase again and try downloading something
6) If it still doesnt work, go kick your neighbours cat - its surely to blame for this!

I am using IE6 (on Win XP) with all the latest updates.

I´ve been thinking, the only thing I´ve installed recently is an update to my HP Internet Keyboard software. Maybe it is causing some problems. When I put in my new hard drive this weekend and then rebuild my system, I will leave this software out, just to see if it might be the culprit. :-)

Thank you.

adni18, all the links don´t work for me. Every one does the same thing that I described in my orignal post.

ORION, what sort of software/drivers, etc. have you installed lately on your computer. Maybe, if I have installed something that you have, there might be a common problem between the two of us. It might have something to do with our systems...... let me know. :-)

Thanks ORION. Works here too. I notice this just started happening within the last week or so. It must have been due to a recent update to Norton Personal Firewall.

Thanks again for sorting that one out. :-)

Nice to hear the good news!
The problem it is solved!!! :)

I was having problems in general with Norton Firewall and I have uninstall it. Any way, I don´t really believe any more in this kind of protection, I was receiving every 2 minutes an attack and I am sure now, that it was a fake alarm ;)

Just finished installing a new hard drive. Had to install the OS and all software over again. So I came here and tried again to download something. Same problem!

Then I read matrix00x´s suggestion. Voila! I was able t download. Now I just have to find out why Norton Personal Firewall has suddenly stopped allowing downloads from this site. :, It doesn´t prevent downloads from other similar sites.

It will probably be a while before I find the solution, but at least now I know what is causing it. :-)

Thanks all, for your help.

Man, this one´s a doosey. I too, like adni have absolutely no problems downloading or anything. It seems strange that you would also have that same problem with Opera...

I think posibly ou could try re-installing internet explorer... but i really can´t think of anything else to try besides what snowman and adni have already suggested. definitely clear your browser cache and all your temporary internet files.

::shrugs:: wish i could be of more help

FYI... I too am/was having this download problem. Here´s what I´m running:

Win XP - Home Edition, with the firewall enabled (only firewall running)
Netscape 7.1

I switched over to IE 6 (which I never use... only for the XP updates) and walla... it downloads from there.

So I feel that the real problem hasn´t been completely solved here as I am running different software than those posted.

Sketch
