We have such a section, it&acute;s called BaseBin.

IndyArt stands for independent art, but imitating DA is not a good idea. Something free from egolatric attitudes would suit fine: free + something, Free Format, Any Format, Expressions, etc., :( how about just Different Formats? :)

For example, you started working on a skin but couldn´t finish it so you upload to the BaseBin and someone else (or several people) download and complete the skin in their own special way. <br /> <br />By the way my friend BruB, your wall &quot;Disks&quot; at BaseBin is so wonderful and minimalistic, one of the best! Please change it category, I never have saw it before and I guess, that many other people didn&acute;t saw it too! <br /> <br />Batoruco, a category <b>SkinBase Art</b> has been all ready added.

I&acute;ve seen many, many wonderful things by various artists that don&acute;t conform to the usual sizes and I think this would be a great idea.... :-D

I think some artists judge how good there work is by the amount of downloads they recieve. Art is always in &quot;the eye of the be-holder&quot;What one person finds good another may not. I have seen alot of wallpapers that must have taken the artist hours,days ect. to create and in themselves are great pieces of art work, but they do not neccesairaly make good walls on a computer monitor. I think a seperate section for art would be a good idea.I would say that most people who visit a site like this would come to download a skin/wallpaper, would they come just for art appreciation I don&acute;t know? :)

Hang tight there folks - in the near future Skinbase will go through some radical changes which benefits both application skinners and wall/art/photo makers.....

My biggest work is actually 11.000 pixels wide, and no.. I am not uploading it as a wallpaper. It is now a print hanging on my wall. <br /> <br />I think for anything to be &acute;legit&acute; on the skin site.. it has to be firstly a _skin_ before it&acute;s artistic value should be considered. Wallpaper is a skin, but an &acute;odd&acute; sized image is just that, and odd size image, or &acute;raw&acute; bitmap/jpg. You could make it into a skin/wallpaper, but otherwise is just considered a resource. <br /> <br />Majority of folks that come to skinbase are looking for skins for their PC&acute;s. Few come for the art but a great majority come for the wallpapers. <br />Good wallpaper &acute;should be made in the resolution it is intended to be used at, and in 1:1 ratio. If the image needs to be resized/stretched to fit the screen by the Windows, there is usually great deal of pixelation and image quality is somewhat degraded. When this happens, or when the image is not made in the exact measurements as required, that would constitute a &acute;buggy&acute; wallpaper skin. <br /> <br />Now base bin is where we upload our resource images, however, good quality Indy Art or Photography is not a resource and deserves much more respect. The problem is that it comes in odd sizes. If everyone would consider to submit their photographs and indy art images/pics in wallpaper resolutions (even up to 10.000 pix wide), then there would be no problems as they would be &acute;technically&acute; considered to be desktop skins. <br /> <br />On skinbase we don&acute;t exactly adhere to the rules and artists are encouraged to suggest what we can do to improve the site. Over the last few months, we have spent great deal of time considering these needs and have few things in the works to give everyone more choices in the near future, but for now... we all just have to get along 8) <br />
