Winamp 3 skins are more fussy. It´s sometimes hard to find a good Winamp 3 skin, because some of them only show the Main window and Equalizer, or just the Main window. Plus Winamp 3 has more fussy stuff about the extra windows it has about the video and AVS, sorting, shuffling, etc. <br />I prefer skinning for Winamp 2/.91... If you want to make skins in a jiffy, then you can try the all-round skinners which make winamp skins in minutes <br /> <br />The one I recommend is Winamp Skinner Tool 1.2 <br /> lol

I must dissagree with snowman, thereĀ“s one single WinaAmp2 skin generator, I canĀ“t recall the name, cause I havenĀ“t skinned WinAmp for a long while, but itĀ“s very good, a little tricky and some bugs need to be fixed manually, but it works just fine, IĀ“ve made some skins in the past and some of them gained reasonable popularity at WinAmp.com and 1000winampskins.com, I believe I got rid of them though, but some might be here or at DA. <br />Anyway, what I agree is that those real skin generators that only need some settings and generate a crappy skin out of nothing are just that, crap. <br />The one I used called for a complete design of the skin the WYSYWYG way and then the program would just generate all the bmp files needed. Then the real work would begin just fixing all the generated bugs, but it sure it would save a lot of time. <br />In any case, I would tell steelwolf, if you are god with xml, try free form skinning, WinAMp 3 is no longer there, so just call it freeform. If youĀ“re like me, who donĀ“t understand a single thing about programming, try WinAmp2, but study first the bmp files of any skin, just change the .wsz file to .zip file and extract the bmp files to get the idea! <br />Then again, this thread started 145 days ago, I just realized, so why bother? :)

Snow is correct.....skin maker proggies for WinAMP are capable of creating photoskins and nothing better. <br />If anyone wants to learn anything worthwhile about skinning keep well away from the WA skinning proggies....they are infantile rubbish designed to keep the kiddies entertained making Britney´s Boobs WA skins...;)
