found the problem! it was happening on and off and i never knew why but i realised it today when i accidentaly switched the font, the font which i was using (Raavi) is only numbers and symbols... which is too bad since it was a realy nice font...

but thanks for the help.... :)

Yes you learned a lot with that kind of program... I remember using my first masks with Paint Shop Pro 3, that was quite a thing !

I still use it for pixel painting such as for my smileys and emoticon, and because of these fabulous resizable selections... LOL
wow huge answer!! kool :)

hmm Gimp sounds very interesting! I mean, I have Photoshop since Version 4 and got used to it (took me a WHILE tho). But if they do a new version I´ll really think about using GIMP because Photoshop updates are RIP OFF as well.. I mean the program is very huge, you can actually do everything with it... but hey, its not worth THAT much money!

wow, PSP 3.11 ?? Is that Paint Shop Pro?! I really loved this program.. and Fouve Matisse!!! they were really great!

good old times... now you can do brilliant wallpapers with just some filters... but 4 or 5 years ago this was really difficoult (ok for me at least ;))

Gimp has a very good layer system, color channels, masks, filters, light effects, etc. etc. etc...
Photoshop is very expensive in France too and I don´t need it at all, after all I´m quite a beginner and I like to use simple or freeware programs for the most common tasks, such as my beloved old PSP 3.11 (yessssss !), U-Lead photo Impact, Ultimate FX, Z-paint, etc.
If I want something more complicated I use Gimp, I have it on my Win98, Win2000 and XP but I buy the Linux magazines for the tutorials...

Gimp is not simple at first hand but once you get used to it´s more comfortable than Photoshop.

and the price is really relevant!

dunno how much photoshop costs in france or in america but in germany its more than 1500€ which is pretty much for me :) so if gimp can do most of the common uses this is very cool!

I hat gimp on my computer for one week, I used it twice. But then I had to buy Photoshop for work use and deleted gimp...

does gimp also have a layer system?

<CAN YOU... uhm.. well.. make very stunning effects with filters?! >

The two programs have a real different point of vue, Gimp is more intuitive, is getting real powerful and can easily match Photoshop for most common uses, thatis. And I thing people should support a freeware and opensource program.
