Hey Guys,

Thanks a lot for your reply. Here are some query I have to you. If you know please post a reply for me.

For Another_user: Thanks, I will try to install and check that again.

For Kullu: I am using xp, and when I tried to rename the extension as x.dat to x.avi it still remains as *.dat like x.avi.dat. What should I do?

For Xenu: If I uninstall the Kazaa and replace with Kazaa lite K++, can I resume my old unfinished Kazaa files with Kazaa lite or all will be lost?

However thanks a lot freinds for your suggestions.

MadKazaaUser
hi.. to solve this kindda problem follow the following steps:-

1 open c: drive
2 goto tools -> folder options
3 now a folder options window will open....
click on the view panel..
4 look under advance settings for "Hide
Extensions for known file types" uncheck it..
5 then click ok button

after doing this ur file will now show the extension of .dat, delete this .dat and write .avi

this will solve ur problem...

one more thing if u replace kazaa with kazaalite k++, "YES" u can resume ur old unfinished files... just select the "my shared file" folder which has the files u were downloading, when prompted at the time of installation of kazaalite k++..

it will then continue from the place ur earlier downlaod was left....

hope u understand wht i´m trying to suggest...

As the problem has been solved, this is only a comment, when I´m downloading from Kazaa, say an mp3, and I want to check if it´s the right one before downloading the whoe thing, I just make a copy of the longname.dat file and rename it to 1.mp3 or whatever, and it´s perfectly usable, so yes, renaming files the proper way will solve the problem. :)
