EFNET is still the oldest and the best, its been around since 1992, and has an average userload of 55,000 people.


Unfortunately due to constant denial of service attacks, many servers on the network have been forced to close their doors, leaving many IRC addicts stranded.

We, the owners of EFnet, believe that there is still some life in the network, but it will require much investment and cash injection.

We believe that the only way the network can be succesfull again is to run it commercially, with advertising if possible. With the potential to get 100,000+ users, there is a lot of scope for bringing in advertising revenue, some of which can pay for faster and better connected servers which can stand up the amount of abuse on the network.

We do not have the time, nor the experience to get things moving, and frankly, we´re so bored and jaded that we just cant be bothered.
